I couldn’t settle on a title for this week's message, so I’ll let you decide after you hear a few options from me. However, the direction of the message couldn’t be more clear, we need to pray more. We need to pray sooner rather than later. We need to listen—not just speak—when we pray. Lessons from a Castaway - Part One: Not Onboard

Scripture's most famous castaway is a prophet named Jonah. When he wasn’t willing to go where God sent him, God intervened. When we aren’t “onboard” with God’s Will for our lives, it will not only affect our lives, but also the lives of others. God got Jonah’s attention when he wasn’t on board with God’s plan. Just as branches need the vine to survive, we must remain in Christ to grow, thrive, and bear fruit. Without Him, we are unable to experience the fullness of life He intends for us. But remember, there must also be a pruning process to produce more fruit. Though pruning can be painful, it is necessary for our spiritual strength and development, drawing us closer to Him and shaping us into who we are meant to be.

Written in Red - Part Two: An Example

There are good examples and then there are bad examples. While we might point to bad examples, so some people might learn from the mistakes of others, the best way to help people learn is from the success of others. This is what Jesus did for us, He provided the greatest example of how we should live our lives. He set an example for us to follow. He didn’t just do this hoping we would catch on and follow His example, He pointed to Himself as our example and then told us to follow it.

The red letters make it easy to identify when Jesus is speaking. This series will focus on the words Jesus spoke while preparing His disciples and others for His death, burial, and resurrection. More than a Feeling - Part Three: Desperate for Others

We can feel for others and that is a good thing, but often doesn’t lead to action. It is when we are desperate for others that we are willing drop what we are doing, make some sacrifices and act on their behalf. Relationships require responsibilities and the more desperate we are for others, the more responsible we will be. We don’t have to settle for just feeling for someone because of their situation, what they desperately need is more than our feelings. This Sunday, Pastor Wil is going to show us the value of really showing up for others.
