Anticipation can be both exciting and excruciating while you wait. Our Savior, Christ, was anticipated for centuries before He came. The New Testament is full of examples of Jews who were anticipating the Christ but rejected Jesus as the Christ. However, those who anticipated with open hearts and discovered that Jesus is the Christ accepted Him. This weekend, we wrap up the series with Nathanael, who was anticipating the Christ but doubted that Jesus was the Christ. For anyone who has ever doubted God, this weekend is dedicated to you.

There are people who want to be freed from their illnesses, and then there are people who become content with their illnesses because of the pity they receive. In this week’s Singled Out encounter, Jesus confronts someone with a physical illness to address their spiritual illness. Gather with us as we step back to see the bigger picture that motivates Jesus not only to heal our broken bodies, but also to bring healing to our souls.

Many people who end up having faith in Jesus started with simple curiosity. Curiosity either gets dismissed or it gets our attention. This week, we will look at someone who was curious about how to get to heaven. He didn’t dismiss his curiosity, instead he singled Jesus out to ask what would be required of him to get to heaven. One of the hardest situations for anyone to deal with is being rejected. What is worse is when we aren’t just rejected by one, but by many. This kind of rejection creates an outcast. Jesus our Savior didn’t go out of His way, but took the road less traveled just to have a divine appointment to rescue a rejected woman. Not only was this a surprise to her, but she surprised everyone who ever rejected her. When Jesus transforms a life, the result will be even more transformed lives. Religion isn’t all it is cracked up to be. We truly don’t need more religious people or more religion. There is something far better. This weekend, we are going to see someone who was extremely religious secretly approach Jesus. He was looking for more than what his religion was offering. The answers he found have been shared ever since. Come ready to discover that the relationship Jesus came to offer, is far superior to the offerings that are found in religion.
