Thursday Oct 03, 2024
Thursday Oct 03, 2024
Who do you admire for the stand they’ve taken? Chances are, if you admire them, it is because you agree with the stand, and you admire them for standing even though it cost them something. It’s easy to identify the costs of taking a stand and back down because the cost seemed too steep. But those who stand in spite of the costs know the price is worth it. Faith will require us to take a stand. This weekend, come get encouraged to stand strong in your faith because when you stand, you show God and the world your true devotion.

How to Love Your Neighbor - February 4, 2024
Thursday Oct 03, 2024
Thursday Oct 03, 2024
There is a Bible scholar named Matthew Henry who was once attacked and robbed. In his diary, he explained that he was thankful he had not been robbed before; his money was taken, but not his life. What was taken wasn’t much, and he was the one who was robbed, not the one doing the robbing. While I sincerely appreciate Matthew Henry's attitude of gratitude, it makes me sad to think he did not have a rescuer for whom he could also be thankful. The bad news is, we are surrounded by people in dire situations. The good news is, we can be the heroes they need. This Sunday, let's rediscover how Jesus makes that possible.

So often, many of us are after “more” in life. We want to live fuller, happier lives and essentially have more of everything good. In our pursuit of more stuff we can miss pursuing Christ more. This Christmas, if we are intentional we can experience Christ more and when we experience Christ more, we will make Christmas more about Christ.
